Where Creativity Meets Memory

Crafty Cinders began with a simple love of making things that mean something — art that tells a story and treasures that hold history.

Inspired by my dad, Bill, and our shared passion for collecting, creating, and uncovering old finds, every project is a little celebration of creativity, family, and the beauty of the past.

From whimsical Bottle Buddies and original artworks to antique glass and nostalgic keepsakes, each piece is made or chosen with care to bring warmth and wonder into your home.

Meet Tracy – The Heart Behind Crafty Cinders

Hello, I’m Tracy — the heart behind Crafty Cinders.

I’m a mum of three and a proud nanny to eight wonderful grandchildren who keep me smiling, laughing, and on my toes every day.

Life has taken me on some incredible journeys — from picking bananas on a kibbutz in Israel more than forty years ago to becoming one of the early SFA (Scottish Football Association) coaches for under-13s. Each experience has taught me something new about creativity, courage, and connection.

I lost my first husband, Paul, when he was just 22 — a heartbreak that shaped me deeply and reminded me that life is precious and fleeting. Since then, I’ve chosen to live with my glass always half full, chasing moments of joy, kindness, and meaning.

Through Crafty Cinders, I pour those lessons into my art, antiques, and handmade creations — blending nostalgia with new stories, and giving back through monthly charity support. I hope you’ll join me on this journey — to celebrate creativity, kindness, and the magic of making something meaningful together. ☕✨

Peter Layton Handblown Glass

Peter Layton is one of Britain’s most celebrated and influential contemporary glass artists — often called the godfather of modern studio glass.

Born in Prague in 1937 and raised in the UK, he became fascinated by the movement of molten glass in the 1960s and went on to help bring the studio glass revolution to Britain.

Unlike factory-produced glass, Layton’s work is created in a studio environment where each piece is designed, shaped, and blown by hand, making every item unique. His style is famous for:

✨ bold colour blends

✨ swirling patterns inspired by nature

✨ delicate layering of glass “canes” and pigments

No two pieces are ever the same — each has its own personality, movement, and story.

Freeform hell/Wave Bowl

This striking free-form wave bowl by renowned British glass artist Peter Layton captures the movement and energy of flowing water. Created at the iconic London Glassblowing Studio, the piece showcases Layton’s signature sculptural style — fluid, organic and full of life.

Crafted by hand, the bowl’s swirling blue tones and clear glass folds create beautiful light reflections from every angle. No two pieces are ever the same, making this a true one-off collectable artwork.

At Crafty Cinders, giving back is at the heart of what I do.

Each month beginning in 2026 - 10% of sales are donated to a different charity close to my heart — from causes supporting pancreatic cancer and sepsis awareness, to premature baby care, dementia, epilepsy, eczema research, autism support, and more.

These causes are deeply personal to me and my family, and through Crafty Cinders, I hope to turn creativity into compassion — one handmade piece, one story, and one small act of kindness at a time.
